Paranormal event is said to be a usual thing at haunted Arizona hotel. Manager of the hotel, who was a sceptic about the presence of the ghost despite many reports about it, is now a believer after seeing a figure in a long duster coat and cowboy hat at the basement when she tried to look for candles during a power outage. Even guests of the hotel reported hearing and see paranormal activity. A guest claim that two ghosts went inside his room as if they came from a day of shopping and disappeared after a few seconds.
Manager Robin Brekhus did not mind about the creepy history of her Arizona hotel until she glimpsed a figure in a long duster coat and cowboy hat through the beam of her flashlight at the basement when she went there in search of candles.
Brekhus said that the man looked like wanted to make eye contact with her and wanted her to acknowledge him. She was running back up to the steps of the spacious lobby because of fear. She is now a new believer of the existence of ghost or sprit.
During the hotel’s prime, the now lobby of the Gadsden Hotel was a living room that hosted cattle barons, cowboys, and executives for the local copper mining industry of the remote Douglas, Arizona, which was once a ranching town.
Staff and guests at the Gadsden claimed they have experienced ghost encounters from the top floor down to the basement, not just during Halloween, but all year round.
The hotel has 160 rooms that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It officially opened in 1907 but was greatly damaged by a fire. It started again its operation in 1929, since then, the hotel has a minor change. The lobby still has the original marble steps leading to the spacious mezzanine. The elevators are fitted with original furnishings.
Many guests claimed seeing televisions turning on and off in Room 333, allegedly the most haunted. Guests also heard a strange noise from radiators.
One of the guests who encountered paranormal activity said that she was so scared, but she was fine when he pray the Hail Mary.
Another guest reported that he heard a key turning in the lock, then two figures went inside the room as if they just finished a day of shopping. Then after a few seconds, they were gone.
One visitor testified that her hair was pulled at night and another mentioned that she felt someone sit on the edge of the bed then laid down next to her as she felt the pressure of somebody laid down to the bed.
But not all guests believe in paranormal event in the hotel. One sceptic said that the only haunted in room 333 is the toilet that won’t stop running.
Some staff of the hotel are somewhat uncomfortable with the ghosts or spirits but for deputy manager Brenda Maley, the ghosts are good company in an isolated town.
